Low Stress Cowman-ship Clinic
Location: Willow creek Rd. Corvallis, MT.
Date: April 17th and 18th
Time: 9 am - 4 pm 1 Hour break for lunch
Cost: $250 + $30 for cattle and arena per person
This clinic will help you and your horse learn how to approach cattle in a low stress manner.
Some topics covered:
- Flat work
- Down the fence work
- Sorting cows from the rodear and penning them
- Helping your horse find the “release” not the “fear”
- Proper positioning on the cow
- Understanding the “area of influence” and how it effects both your horse and cow
- Learning good cowman-ship and etiquette and the reasons behind it
- Rodear work and why it’s important
- Establishing correct shape from your horse
- Freeing up your horse and accomplishing gait transitions
- Establishing patience for both horse and rider

Taking Horsemanship out of the “Box”

Cost: $700.00 per person
* This package includes the cost of the three day clinic, lodging for two nights, breakfast, lunch and dinner and boarding for your horse (must provide own feed). If a person wants they can share a cabin with another participant and split the cost of the room. Horses can be leased for the clinic at a fee of $25 a day.
* The clinic will cover Horsemanship 1 and the importance of the “Core Balance”TM. exercises. As well as how it applies on the trail while encountering obstacles in a safe and easy manner, that is enjoyable and safe for both horse and rider.

This clinic will help you and your horse, learn how to approach and handle cattle in a low stress manner.
During the clinic we will be taking the principles of Low stress cow-manship and apply them in a working situation involving the sorting of pairs and the preconditioning of calves prior to being shipped. The setting for this particular clinic will be held at, The Grant Creek Ranch and we will be working in and around the corrals and chutes learning how to be “good” help in and amongst the corrals and understanding the importance of good etiquette while working together in close quarters.
